Spiritual growth is personal, it is not how anointed your pastor is in sharing the Gospel. Sometimes even your pastor already thought you everything about the Bible it is still up to you whether you will follow Jesus Christ teachings or not because we are not created by God like robots.Spiritual growth is progressive, it is not stagnant, the moment you truly accepted Jesus Christ in your life, the Holy Spirit will always give you revelations in what you need to do and what you should do to glorify the name of God.
Spiritual growth is also painful. Yes, indeed. As you became a servant of God expect many trials and persecutions from people around you and from Satan.
Spiritual growth is definitely productive. Of course as you became more and more deeper knowing God and the Word, you will be equipped of Godly knowledge and you will be able to know what is your gift. You can be a pastor, evangelist, prophet, giver, healer, and others. You will be able to use your gift to make others know and accept God too.
